Regular Season Round 17: TTT Juniores - RSU 56-85

The most interesting game of round 17 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. The game took place in Riga where sixth rankedRSU outleveled host TTT Juniores (0-8) 85-56 . RSU dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to TTT Juniores ' 28. RSU forced 20 TTT Juniores turnovers and outrebounded them 65-39 including a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. RSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Anita Mikelsone (178-2001) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds. Forward Una Steinharde (170-2001) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Megija Zeltina (180-2006) answered with 6 points and 13 rebounds and Latvian guard Elina Briede (174-2005) added 12 points in the effort for TTT Juniores. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. RSU maintains sixth place with 7-5 record. TTT Juniores at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with BJBS Riga.
