Regular Season Round 14: Papagou - Milonas 75-90

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens:Milonas (#3) and Papagou (#8). Papagou was defeated at home 75-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Milonas players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Center Petros Melissaratos (205-1993) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-1991) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Milonas' coach Nikos Karagiannis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Panagiotis Kois (200-1998) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Ioannis Karakostas (190-2004) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Papagou. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Milonas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-5 record having just two points less than leader Panionios, which they share with Megaridas. Papagou at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Iraklis and Doxa Lefkadas.
