Regular Season Round 13: Gran Canaria - Ferrol 61-78

There was no surprise in Las Palmas where 15th ranked Gran Canaria (3-10) was defeated by eleventh ranked Ferrol (6-7) 78-61 on Wednesday. Ferrol shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American guard Rachel Howard (178-1995, college: USF) fired 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Gala Mestres (185-1994, college: Mount Royal) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jade Loville (180-2000, college: Arizona) produced 16 points and the other American import forward Destiny Harden (183-1998, college: Miami, FL) added 8 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ferrol moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ensino. Gran Canaria at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Ferrol will meet at home Celta Zorka (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gran Canaria will play against Estudiantes in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
