Regular Season Round 11: Hyundai - Basco 68-66

The most exciting game of round 11 in the U18 League took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th rankedBasco (4-3) to leader Hyundai (7-0) 68-66 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 17-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hyundai dominated on the defensive end, holding Basco to just 6 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for center Bachana Shvelidze (208-2006) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Guard Guram Tskhadadze (193-2006) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Hyundai players scored in double figures. Hyundai's coach Irakli Cherqezishvili used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Teimuraz Mjavanadze (-2006) responded with 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Saba Khimshiashvili (-2007) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Hyundai have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Basco at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Wings.
