Important game to mention about took place in Salo. Sixth rankedVilpas (10-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Kouvot (8-10) 112-110 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kouvot won third quarter 24-23 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Kouvot outrebounded Vilpas 49-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American guard Jamison Overton (198-1999, college: Weber St.) notched 28 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Mikko Koivisto (194-1987, college: UNCG, agency: Blacktop Management) supported him with 23 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by Panamanian-American forward Ricardo Lindo Jr (203-2000, college: GWU) did not help to save the game for Kouvot . American guard Kyle Lofton (190, college: Florida) added 27 points and 7 rebounds. Four Vilpas and five Kouvot players scored in double figures. Vilpas moved-up to fifth place. Kouvot at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kobrat.
