Regular Season Round 15: Kouvot - Espoo Team 80-81

Bottom-rankedEspoo Team managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged sixth-ranked Kouvottaret in Kouvola 81-80 . It looked good early as Kouvot took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Espoo Team had a 27-21 second period charge getting the lead and Kouvot was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-81. Espoo Team outrebounded Kouvottaret 45-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nicole Ogun (184-2007) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Erika Mace (173-2007) accounted for 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Espoo Team players scored in double figures. American forward Shaiquel McGruder (183-1999, college: N.Mexico) came up with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import guard ReShawna Stone (168, college: Buffalo) added 16 points respectively for Kouvottaret in the defeat. Kouvottaret's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Espoo Team maintains ninth place with 4-11 record. Kouvot at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost.
