Undefeated leaderTorpan Pojat delivered the fourteenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Vimpelin Veto (7-9) 83-66 in Helsinki. The game without a history. ToPo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Torpan Pojat outrebounded Vimpelin Veto 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Torpan Pojat brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman IimarI Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Torpan Pojat's coach Sandra Prieto allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jah'Che Whitfield (180-2000, college: KSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Sam Breen (185, college: UMass, agency: LBM Management) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vimpelin Veto. Four Vimpelin Veto players scored in double figures. ToPo (14-0) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. ViVe at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost.
