Rather expected game when 6th rankedGomel (6-8) was crushed at home by third ranked Olimpia (12-2) 97-66 on Saturday. Olimpia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel 's 32 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Olimpia forced 29 Gomel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Hanna Lapo (189-1997) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Evgenia Bernatskaya (170-2005) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ilona Katsyro (170-2005) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and Anastasia Chupakhina (-2007) added 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively. Gomel's coach Anatol Rogozenko gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Olimpia . They moved-up to second place, which they share with Gorizont. Gomel lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost.
