There was a small surprise when twelfth rankedM.Rishon (3-5) beat 9th ranked H.Safed Galil (3-6) in Rishon Le-Zion 93-84 on Tuesday. M.Rishon dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to H.Safed Galil 's 40. M.Rishon looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international Raviv Pitshon (198-1989) nailed 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Danel Kozahinof (168-2001) accounted for 9 points and 8 assists. M.Rishon's coach Mickey Gorka used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Itay Geva (188-2001) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international power forward Daniel Koperberg (208-1997) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for H.Safed Galil in the defeat. Four H.Safed Galil players scored in double figures. M.Rishon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with M.Ma'ale Adum. Newly promoted H.Safed Galil dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost.
