Everything could happen in Sauoarkrokur at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth rankedGrindavik and 7th ranked Tindastoll had identical 7-6 record. But Tindastoll was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Grindavik 101-96 on Thursday night. Grindavik forced 19 Tindastoll turnovers. Strangely Tindastoll outrebounded Grindavik 49-35 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hungarian-American swingman DeAndre Kane (195-1989, college: Iowa St.) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Angolan-Spanish forward Julio De Assis (203-1992) supported him with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Jacob Calloway (202-1996, college: SUU, agency: MSG) did not help to save the game for Tindastoll . The former international guard Thorir Thorbjarnarson (198-1998, college: Nebraska) added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Grindavik and four Tindastoll players scored in double figures. Grindavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Stjarnan. Tindastoll lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hottur.
