Regular Season Round 17: Lublin - Gdynia 80-81

The most exciting game of round 17 in the OBLK took place in Lublin. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th rankedLublin (9-6) to third ranked Gdynia (12-4) 81-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lublin. Gdynia shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. American players dominated the game. Guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Mikayla Cowling (188-1996, college: California, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Gdynia's coach Philip Mestdagh used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Veronica Burton (175-2000, college: Northwestern) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists and guard Bria Goss (178-1992, college: Kentucky) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Lublin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gdynia maintains third place with 12-4 record having just one point less than leader Polkowice. Defending champion Lublin dropped to the sixth position with six games lost.
