There was a surprise result when seventeenth rankedBreogan Lugo (6-13) won against at home higher ranked Basquet Girona (7-12) 93-75 on Sunday. Rio Breogan dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Basquet Girona 's 26. Rio Breogan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Sergi Garcia (193-1997) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Sergi Quintela (184-1996) accounted for 10 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Five Breogan Lugo players scored in double figures. Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Argentinian Maximo Fjellerup (198-1997) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for Girona in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rio Breogan moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Granada and Obradoiro. Girona lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Andorra and Bilbao.
