Regular Season Round 17: St.Chamond - Poitiers 78-84

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth rankedPoitiers and 9th ranked Saint Chamond had identical 8-8 record. But Saint Chamond was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Poitiers 84-78 on Friday night. Poitiers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Slovenian point guard Luka Rupnik (186-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed 15 points and 7 assists for the winning side and power forward Mohamed Diawara (204-2005) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Five Poitiers players scored in double figures. Point guard Mathieu Guichard (188-1988) came up with 9 points and 8 assists and Croatian center Antonio Vrankovic (213-1996, college: Duke) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for St.Chamond in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Poitiers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with EB Orthez. St.Chamond lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Denain-Voltaire and Lille.
