There was a small surprise in El Puerto de Santa Maria where fifth rankedGymnastica (11-5) won against much higher ranked Aljaraque (12-4) 98-92 on Saturday. Gymnastica outrebounded Aljaraque 54-38 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gymnastica looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Milos Cvrkota (-2004) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian Manny Ogunfolu (201-1989, college: S.Indiana, agency: Interperformances) who added 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Gymnastica players scored in double figures. At the losing side Dominican Esmerlin Terrero (-1993) responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Pablo Martinez (185-1997) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gymnastica have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Aljaraque keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Valls and Baskonia B.
