Regular Season Round 17: BT Madrid - Tacoronte 85-69

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked BT Madrid (2-15) won against at home higher ranked Tacoronte (6-11) 85-69 on Saturday. Asier De la Iglesia (201-1983) nailed 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Javier De Yraolagoitia (200-2000) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five BT Madrid players scored in double figures. Guard Gabriel Campos (188-2001) came up with 27 points and 9 rebounds and center Ruben Pestano (200-1999) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Tacoronte in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BT Madrid moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Quart-Germans C and Octavus. Newly promoted Tacoronte keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 7 other teams. BT Madrid will meet league's second-placed Guadalajara on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tacoronte will play against La Matanza (#6) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
