Regular Season Round 20: PeKa - Kouvot 72-95

The most important game in the last round took place in Kotka between second rankedPeli-Karhut (11-7) and sixth ranked Kouvottaret Peli-Karhut was crushed by Kouvottaret at home 72-95 . The game was mostly controlled by Kouvot. PeKa managed to win fourth quarter 24-17 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kouvottaret looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Shaiquel McGruder (183-1999, college: N.Mexico) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Doniyah Cliney (182-1996, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Kouvottaret players scored in double figures. Kouvottaret's coach Joonas Frimodig felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Syrian guard Randi Brown (173-1996, college: New Orleans) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward DaNasia Hood (185, college: Texas St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Peli-Karhut. Kouvot maintains sixth position with 7-11 record. PeKa lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third place with seven games lost.
