The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth rankedMaccabi Tel-Aviv 's (9-3) road victory over 6th ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (8-6) 90-85 on Friday. M.Tel-Aviv outrebounded H.Jerusalem 43-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. M.Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Roman Sorkin (210-1996, college: Oregon) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Josh Nebo (206-1997, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Levi Randolph (198-1992, college: Alabama, agency: Slash Sports) produced 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists and the other American import Chris Johnson (198-1990, college: Dayton) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five M.Tel-Aviv and four H.Jerusalem players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Maccabi Tel-Aviv . Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Hapoel Jerusalem keeps the sixth position with six games lost. M.Tel-Aviv will meet at home I.Ness Ziona (#7) in the next round. H.Jerusalem will play against H.Haifa and hope to secure a win.
