Rather predictable result when third rankedUMK Torun (21-4) defeated on the road 5th ranked Gniezno (16-9) 103-98 on Saturday. UMK Torun looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Arkadiusz Kobus (196-1986) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Pawel Sowinski (193-2005) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Mikolaj Czyz (205-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Hubert Konowalski (177-2004) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gniezno's coach Arkadiusz Konowalski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for UMK Torun . They maintain third place with 21-4 record having just two points less than leader Bytom. Loser Gniezno keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.
