Top rankedPanionios (16-7) recorded its seventh loss in Megara on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Megaridas (15-8) 76-53 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Megaridas forced 21 Panionios turnovers. Strangely Panionios outrebounded Megaridas 38-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Petros Geromichalos (203-1994) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Guard Angelos Gatzias (195-1994) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Megaridas players scored in double figures. The former international center Dimitrios Kaklamanakis (205-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Dimitris Verginis (194-1987) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Panionios' coach Periklis Tavropoulos gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Megaridas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Eleftheroupoli. Panionios at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost.
