There was a minor upset when 9th rankedAncona (6-13) was smashed on the road by eleventh ranked Rovigo (7-13) 68-41 on Saturday. Rovigo held Ancona to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Rovigo forced 19 Ancona turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Croatian forward Mia Masic (180-1993) who scored that evening 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Sara Zanetti (185-2004) supported her with 5 points and 10 rebounds. Coach Giulia Pegoraro's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 9 points and 5 steals by French Berengere Dinga-Mbomi (172-1995) did not help to save the game for Ancona . Georgian center Keso Barbakadze (185-2003) added 8 points for the guests. Rovigo moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Umbertide. Ancona lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Torino and Vicenza.
