Very important is a road loss of third rankedTampereen Pyrinto (12-9) against fourth ranked Peli-Karhut (12-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Tampereen Pyrinto was crushed by Peli-Karhut in Kotka 103-70 . It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. PeKa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Peli-Karhut dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tampereen Pyrinto 's 24 and made 19-of-19 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Tampereen Pyrinto 47-32 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward DaNasia Hood (185, college: Texas St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. American-Syrian guard Randi Brown (173-1996, college: New Orleans) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Saana Kujala (184-2002) replied with 21 points and American swingman ELease Stafford (183-1999, college: UMKC) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tampereen Pyrinto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Honka. Pyrinto at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost.
