There was no surprise when 12th rankedMenorca (8-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Alicante (16-7) 67-61 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for American guard Brad Davison (193-1999, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Icelandic guard Jon Axel Gudmundsson (195-1996, college: Davidson) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-1984) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized French guard Tom Digbeu (195-2001) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Alicante . They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Menorca keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
