Rather predictable result in Akureyri where eighth rankedThor (9-11) defeated 10th ranked Armann (5-14) 94-87 on Friday. Thor outrebounded Armann 51-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Hungarian-American power forward Jason Gigliotti (203-1999, college: UM-Dearborn) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Reynir Robertsson (186) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Thor AK's coach Oskar Thorsteinsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Devaughn Jenkins (201-1995, college: Angelo St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Frosti Valgardsson (176-2007) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Thor and four Armann players scored in double figures. Thor have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with IA. Armann lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost.
