Regular Season Round 23: Vichy Clermont - Fos-sur-Mer 85-86

The most exciting game of round 23 in the ProB took place in Vichy. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-rankedJA Vichy (17-6) to seventeenth ranked Provence Basket (8-15) 86-85 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. American point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech) saved the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. Swedish center Mattias Markusson (218-1996, college: LMU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Noah Penda (200-2005) answered with 14 points and 4 assists and forward Mamadou Guisse (197-2001) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Vichy Clermont. Four Vichy Clermont players scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fos-sur-Mer moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Evreux and Aix-Maurienne. Vichy Clermont at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost.
