Everything could happen in Uusikaupunki at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth rankedKorihait and 5th ranked Vilpas had identical 16-12 record. This time Korihait used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Salo 83-74 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15 . But Vilpas won second period 22-18 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Korihait dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vilpas ' 28. They outrebounded Vilpas 48-32 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Javion Ogunyemi (206-1995, college: Siena) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Jalen Jackson (198-1994, college: UALR, agency: Diamond Sports) accounted for 16 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Korihait players scored in double figures. American point guard Tavon King (180-1997, college: Cumberland) came up with 25 points (made all of his seven free throws) and international swingman Jacob Grandison (198-1998, college: Duke) added 17 points respectively for Vilpas in the defeat. Vilpas' coach Jussi Savolainen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Korihait (17-12) moved-up to third place, which they share with Kouvot and Karhubasket. Loser Vilpas keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Kataja.
