Bottom-ranked Valletta F. (0-14) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to sixth ranked Bupa (5-8) 85-71 on Sunday evening. Bupa dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Valletta F.'s 32. Bupa looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Marko Matijevic (200-1978) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. International Nathan Xuereb (180-2001) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard DeSean Mattox (185-1990, college: E.Oregon) who recorded 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Neil Cassar (167-2004) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bupa maintains sixth place with 5-8 record. Valletta F. lost their fourteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Bupa will meet league's leader Starlites in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valletta F. will play against Hibernians (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
