We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th rankedRueil (14-16) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked STB Le Havre (16-14) 94-72 on Friday. Le Havre dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rueil 's 32 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rueil 39-25 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Le Havre looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Rueil 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Valentin Bigote (196-1992) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Fred Thomas (196-1993, college: MSU) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. STB Le Havre's coach Fabrice Courcier felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Elian Benitez (180-2003) responded with 14 points and 7 assists and Greek point guard Rafail Lanaras (196-2001) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Four Le Havre and five Rueil players scored in double figures. Le Havre moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tarbes-Lourdes. Rueil at the other side keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Challans.
