Very expected game when 10th rankedBrest (2-23) was smashed at home by third ranked Gorizont (20-4) 98-26 on Saturday. Gorizont held Brest to an opponent 17.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 61.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Gorizont forced 24 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 41-22 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorizont looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Brest 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gorizont made 9 blocks. American guard LaTora Duff1 (170, college: N.Mexico) notched 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international Alena Karasevich (179-1994, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Even 9 points by Agata Mokhnach (-2008) did not help to save the game for Brest . Ekaterina Stankevich (-2007) added 7 points for the hosts. Brest's coach Lyudmila Karinchuk gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gorizont have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 20-4 record having six points less than leader BC Minsk. Brest lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games.
