Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedGiussano (10-12) lost on the road to third ranked Valdarno (18-5) 75-59 on Sunday. Valdarno outrebounded Giussano 49-34 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Bulgarian center Aleksandra Nikolaeva-Petrova (190-1998) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Maria Lazzaro (178-1996) accounted for 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Valdarno players scored in double figures. The former international center Valentina Gatti (193-1988) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Polish forward Klaudia Niedzwiedzka (186-1998) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Giussano in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valdarno moved-up to second place, which they share with Alpo. Giussano lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost.
