Regular Season Round 26: Zaragoza - Araski 61-53

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Zaragoza (22-7) won against at home 11th ranked Araski (11-15) 61-53 on Thursday. International guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-1996, college: Temple) chipped in 12 points during the contest. Zaragoza's coach Carlos Cantero used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Marta Hermida (180-1997, college: Boise St.) responded with 13 points and American forward Brittany Brewer (196-1997, college: Texas Tech) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Zaragoza maintains third position with 22-7 record having just two points less than leader Valencia. Loser Araski keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Zaragoza will meet Celta Zorka (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Araski will play against the league's second-placed Avenida and hope to secure a win.
