Tenth-rankedNardo (11-18) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Trapani (26-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Trapani managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76 . However their fans expected much easier game. Trapani outrebounded Nardo 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. American Chris Horton (202-1994, college: Austin Peay) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international forward Fabio Mian (196-1992) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Trapani's coach Andrea Diana used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Russ Smith (183-1991, college: Louisville) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Matteo Ferrara (201-1997, agency: SLN) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Nardo. Trapani have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-2 record. Nardo at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Vigevano. Trapani are looking forward to face Trieste (#5) at home in the next round. Nardo will play against Juvi Cremona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
