There was an upset when higher rankedUnion Rennes (17-17) was outscored by tenth ranked Orchesien BC (15-19) in Orchies 108-83 on Friday. Orchies shot 61.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 57.6 percentage. Orchies looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by American guard Andrew Jones (191-1997, college: Texas) who scored that evening 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and point guard Louis Rucklin (185-1999) supported him with 16 points and 5 assists. Orchesien BC's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists by Guinean forward Cheick Sekou-Conde (203-1992) did not help to save the game for Rennes . Swingman Fabien Damase (199-2002, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Five Orchies and four Rennes players scored in double figures. Orchies moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rueil and Loon-Plage. Loser Union Rennes dropped to the fifth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Vitre and Challans.
