There was a small surprise in Malaga where seventh rankedNovaschool (12-11) edged 4th placed La Zubia (13-10) 83-80 on Friday. Novaschool forced 23 La Zubia turnovers. Juan Cebrian (-2002) stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and American Alex Jackson (200-1984, college: UMSL) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Worth to mention Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. At the losing side point guard David Garcia Gazquez (180-1993) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Eloy Almazan (199-1984) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four La Zubia players scored in double figures. La Zubia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Novaschool maintains seventh place with 12-11 record. Loser La Zubia keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
