The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-rankedM.Rehovot (16-7) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked I.Nahariya (14-9) 86-78 . I.Nahariya shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Yanir Binyamin (188-2000, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Amit Reuven (182-1998) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four I.Nahariya players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-1997, college: Roanoke) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Omer Ben David (188-2001) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. I.Nahariya maintains third place with 14-9 record having just two points less than leader M.Rehovot. M.Rehovot at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. They share it with E.Netanya.
