The game without a history. Steaua led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared toCluj CSU 's 42. Steaua forced 20 Cluj CSU turnovers and outrebounded them 50-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. American guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Joey Potts (208-1999, college: Oregon Tech) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). At the losing side center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-2001) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Darius Coste (196-2003) scored 0 points and 13 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
