ButHaukar was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Egilsstadir 108-80 on Thursday night. Hottur shot 27 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Haukar only scored ten points from the stripe. Hottur shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hottur made 8 blocks. American guard Courvoisier McCauley (196-1998, college: Indiana St.) nailed 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Knezevic (205-1987) accounted for 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Tyson Jolly (193-1997, college: Iona) came up with 30 points and Belgian Seppe D'Espallier (197-1999) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Haukar in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
