Stjarnan used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Reykjavik 95-81 on Friday night. Stjarnan dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Valur 's 24 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Valur 42-28 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-1991, college: Newberry) nailed 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American-Puerto Rican guard Jase Febres (196-1999, college: Texas) accounted for 19 points and 12 rebounds. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. Irish-British forward Taiwo Badmus (200-1993, college: UVA Wise) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and the former international swingman Kristinn Palsson (198-1997, college: Marist) added 22 points respectively for Valur in the defeat.
