Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik:KR (#3) and IR (#8). KR (2-0) smashed visiting IR (0-4) by 49 points 89-40 . The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding IR to just 4 points in first quarter. KR held IR to an opponent 21.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.0 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. KR had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by IR 's players. The winners were led by swingman Anna Magnusdottir (178-2006) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Fjola Gunnarsdottir (185-2006) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Heida Jonsdottir (167-2006) did not help to save the game for IR . Guard Greta Hjaltadottir (176-2004) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR moved-up to second place. IR at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost.
