The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gomel (16-9) in Grodno on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Victoria (11-14) 72-51. Victoria held Gomel to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Victoria forced 27 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 53-41 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Gomel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international swingman Maria Liaskouskaia (179-2007) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Ulyana Paley (183-2009) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Victoria's coach Elena Skrobko felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Yana Paraschenko (180-2005) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds for Gomel. Victoria maintains third position with 11-14 record having five points less than leader Gorizont.
