The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gomel (16-9) in Grodno on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Victoria (11-14) 72-51. Victoria held Gomel to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Victoria forced 27 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 53-41 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Gomel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international swingman Maria Liaskouskaia (179-2007) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Ulyana Paley (183-2009) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Victoria's coach Elena Skrobko felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Yana Paraschenko (180-2005) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds for Gomel. Victoria maintains third position with 11-14 record having five points less than leader Gorizont. Five Brest players scored in double figures. Coach Victoria Karpuk's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
