Belarusian Premier League round 19 (Second Stage) best performance: Alena Tsitavets (by Hoops Agents)

Alena Tsitavets (180-SF-2003) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked BC Minsk, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19 (Second Stage).
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (12 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Gorizont 2 (#5, 7-23) with 39-point margin 71-32. BC Minsk maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Belarusian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. BC Minsk will need more victories to improve their 22-9 record. In the team's last game Tsitavets had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at BC Minsk, through which she has constantly improved. Alena Tsitavets has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.3rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg,2.4spg and 55.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Ulyana Zhukevich (176-F/G-2010) of Victoria Grodno. Zhukevich had a very good evening with a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds. Of course she led Victoria to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Gomel 2 (#4, 1-25) 71-32. Victoria's 3rd position in Group B has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-14 record. Zhukevich is a newcomer at Victoria and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Anastasiya Verameyenka (197-C-1987) of league's top team BK Gorizont Minsk. Verameyenka showcased her all-around game by recording 8 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Gorizont, leading her team to a 68-48 easy win against #2 ranked BC Minsk in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Gorizont as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 28 victories and only three lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings in Group A. Verameyenka has a great season in Belarus. After 24 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.4rpg (2nd best). She also has 1.5bpg and a FGP of 57.4%.
