Alena Prokhorchuk claims Belarusian Premier League weekly honour

Talented Alena Prokhorchuk (168-PG-2009) had an amazing evening in the last round for BK Gorizont Minsk and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage).
The 16-year old playmaker had the game-high 15 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Gorizont in her team's victory, helping them to edge out BC Minsk (#1, 17-3) 68-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Gorizont maintains the 3rd position in Belarusian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Gorizont will need more victories to improve their 15-5 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Prokhorchuk as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Prokhorchuk has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 6.1ppg) and assists (8th best: 3.0apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Ksenia Sholomitskaya (178-F-2007) of BK Gomelskiye Rysy. Sholomitskaya impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 12 points and 23 rebounds. Bad luck as Gomel lost that game 53-65 to the bottom-ranked Olimpia 2 (#6, 6-13). Gomel are still at the very bottom. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Gomel managed to get this Second Stage. Sholomitskaya is one of the most experienced players at Gomel and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Gomel's star - Alina Vlasiuk (174-F-2002). Vlasiuk scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds (!!!). Despite Vlasiuk's great performance the BK Gomelskiye Rysy lost 53-65 to the bottom-ranked Olimpia 2 (#6, 6-13). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Gomel can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-18 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Vlasiuk has a very solid season. In 16 games in Belarus she scored 6.1ppg.

8. Anastasia Babak (179-F-2002) of BC Minsk - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Daria Trus (188-C-2008) of Olimpia 2 - 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Maria Novik (181-F-2010) of Olimpia 2 - 6 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
