Belgian Top Division Women round 4 best performance: Marie Vervaet

International Power forward Marie Vervaet (186-PF-2000) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Royal Castors Braine, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Kortrijk (#3, 3-1) 94-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Royal Braine to take over top position in the Belgian Top Division Women. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Royal Braine already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Third on the list of top players last round was center Marine Cop (188-C-2006) of Ladies Liege Panthers (#7). Cop scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Liege, leading her team to a 89-54 easy win against Lummen (#9, 0-3). Liege needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Cop has a very solid season. In 4 games in Belgium she scored 14.8ppg.
