Mike Edwards (ex Timisoara) joins Rilski

Defending champion Rilski Sportist Samokov (NBL) agreed terms with 28-year old American center Mike Edwards (206cm-107kg-1997, college: Georgia) for new 2025-26 season. Edwards played last season at SCM winsed.swiss Mozzart Bet Timisoara in Romanian Liga Nationala. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 17 Liga Nationala games he had 12.6ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.0apg. Edwards also played for Pelister in North Macedonian Prva Liga where in 16 games he recorded 8.6ppg and 5.4rpg. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. Edwards also played 6 games in ABA League where he averaged 14.7ppg and 6.0rpg.
He is quite experienced player. Edwards has played also professionally in Azerbaijan (Sabah), Kosovo (Trepca), Russia (Dinamo Vladivostok), Georgia (Dinamo and Orbi), Canada (London Lightning and St.John's E.) and NBA G League (Osceola Magic).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Honorable Mention back in 2021.
He graduated from University of Georgia in 2019 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
