Guard Jana Hausknechtova (180-G-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Zabiny Brno, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, six rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Flying Foxes (#4, 0-1) 79-75. In the team's last game Hausknechtova had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She has many years of experience at Zabiny Brno, through which she has constantly improved.

The second best player in last round's games was 41-year old Slovakian Jana Lichnerova (193-C-76) of Flying Foxes. Lichnerova had a very good evening with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Flying Foxes was edged by Zabiny Brno 79-75. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Lichnerova is one of the most experienced players at Flying Foxes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Finja Schaake (179-F/G-92) of Marburg. Schaake scored 20 points. She was a key player of Marburg, leading her team to a 71-67 win against SBS Ostrava (#5, 0-1). Marburg has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Schaake also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Schaake as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
