American Portia Durrett (185-F-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Olimpia Brasov and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and twelve rebounds, while her team beat Alba Iulia (#3, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-75. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Olimpia Brasov to jump to the first place in the CEWL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Olimpia Brasov won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Durrett turned to be Olimpia Brasov's top player in her first season with the team. The University of Oklahoma graduate has very impressive stats this year. Durrett is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.0ppg. Durrett is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 5.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 36-year old forward Andra Simina Mandache (185-F-81) of league's best team Satu Mare. Mandache impressed basketball fans with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Of course she led Satu Mare to another comfortable win outscoring ICIM Arad (0-1) 78-57. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Mandache is a newcomer at Satu Mare and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Olimpia Brasov's star - American Aliyyah Handford (175-G-94). Handford scored 18 points and passed five assists. She was another key player of Olimpia Brasov, helping her team with a 81-75 win against #3 ranked Alba Iulia in a game of the week. Olimpia Brasov has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Handford also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Handford as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Destiny Williams (185-F/C-91) of Satu Mare - 22 points and 16 rebounds
5. Gabriela Irimia (177-SF-90) of Olimpia Brasov - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jessica January (170-G-95) of Alba Iulia - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Tyshara Fleming (193-C-94) of Alba Iulia - 14 points and 13 rebounds
8. Ashley Morrissette (175-G-95) of Alba Iulia - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Marina Solopova (182-G/F-90) of Satu Mare - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Ildiko Nagy (187-F/C-84) of ICIM Arad - 12 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
