There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Central Europe Women League. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most interesting game of round 5 was a home defeat of 3rd placed Slovakian Ruzomberok (3-2) to second ranked Czech Ostrava (4-1) 66-61 in the game for the second place. Ostrava made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Ostrava outrebounded MBK 116-93 including a 73-59 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ostrava shot the lights out from three sinking 30 long-distance shots on high 61.2 percentage. American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) stepped up and scored 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and her fellow American import forward Rayven Peeples (192-2000, college: St.John's) chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds. Ostrava's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Kamila Jarosova (176-2003) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ostrava have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-1 record behind leader Piestanske C. Ruzomberok at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Sokol and Brandys n. L.. Ostrava are looking forward to face Brandys n. L. (#5) in Brandys nad Labem in the next round. Ruzomberok will play on the road against Triglav in Kranj and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

Italian guard Elisa Pinzan (173-1999, college: Maryland) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Slavia in the defeat. Undefeated Piestanske C. (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending Slovakian champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Slavia at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Piestanske C. will play against bottom-ranked UBI Graz (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slavia will play against Sokol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Slovenian Triglav (0-5) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fifth ranked Czech Brandys n. L. (3-2) 97-52 on Sunday evening. Brandys n. L. moved-up to third place, which they share with Ruzomberok and Sokol. Triglav lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with UBI Graz. Brandys n. L. will meet at home league's second-placed Ostrava in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Triglav will play against Ruzomberok (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 5 winless UBI Graz lost to Sokol on the opponent's court 66-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 12 rebounds by Eliska Halova of Sokol HK.

Sokol HK - UBI Graz 76-66

Rather expected game in Hradec Kralove where bottom-ranked Austrian UBI Graz (0-5) was defeated by fifth ranked Czech Sokol (3-2) 76-66 on Sunday. Sokol dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to UBI Graz's 20. Sokol forced 23 UBI Graz turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Eliska Halova (180-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Kristyna Brabencova (183-1999, college: S.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sokol HK players scored in double figures. Sokol HK's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Slovenian forward Elma Dautovic (187-2001) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Simone Sill (182-1999) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Sokol moved-up to third place, which they share with Ruzomberok and Brandys n. L. UBI Graz lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Triglav. Sokol will meet Slavia (#6) in the next round. UBI Graz will play against the league's leader Piestanske C. and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
