Podrug's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

46-year old center Emilija Podrug (190-C-1979) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Kosarkaska Akademija Zana Lelas Split and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Medvescak (#7, 0-1) with 16-point margin 75-59. Thanks to this victory KAZL Split moved-up to the 2nd position in Croatian Premijer Liga. But it's just the very beginning of the season and KAZL Split won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Podrug turned to be KAZL Split's top player in her first season with the team. Podrug has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.0rpg) and averages solid 90.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Salome Boyomo (201-F/C-2005) of ZKK Ragusa Dubrovnik. She is French forward in her 2nd season at Ragusa. In the last game Boyomo recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Ragusa to another comfortable win 68-55 over Zagreb (0-1) being unquestionably team leader. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Boyomo is well-known at Ragusa and she already established her position as one of the team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#1). She also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Tamia Ugass (190-F-2003) of league's leader ZKK Brod na Savi Slavonski Brod. Ugass scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was a key player of Brod na Savi, leading her team to a 105-64 easy win against Zadar (#10, 0-1). Brod na Savi has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Ugass also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Ugass as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

9. Lea Marsic (184-C-2003) of KAZL Split - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Kiara Jackson (170-G-2003) of Brod na Savi - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
