The most exciting game of round 15 in the Premijer Liga took place in Sibenik. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Sibenik (12-3) to first ranked Brod na Savi (14-1) 76-73 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sibenik. Brod na Savi dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sibenik's 18. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Ana-Marija Begic (190-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Tamia Ugass (190-2003, college: UMKC) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Bendu Yeaney (178-1998, college: Oregon St.) who recorded 27 points and 5 rebounds. Brod na Savi have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Sibenik at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Zagreb and Tresnjevka. Brod na Savi are looking forward to face Zagreb (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sibenik will play against Pozega and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked Medvescak (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 94-67 loss to third ranked Zagreb (12-3) in Zagreb. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It was a good game for Bosnian point guard Dragana Domuzin (174-2000) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Laura Zelnyte contributed with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Marina Kusanovic (175-2008) answered with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for Medvescak. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Zagreb. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sibenik and Tresnjevka. Medvescak lost their fifteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 15 games lost. Zagreb will play against league's leader Brod na Savi in Slavonski Brod in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Medvescak will play at home against Ragusa (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Dubrovnik. Local Ragusa (10-4) outscored 11th ranked Split (1-14) 99-31 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Iva Todoric who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Ragusa's coach Simona Soda felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Una Majstorovic with 13 points. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 10-4 record. Split lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Ragusa will meet bottom-ranked Medvescak (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Split will play against Rijeka and hope to win that game.
Other games of round 15 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Zadar Plus were crushed by Rijeka in a road game 81-62. KAZL Split beat Zadar at home 70-58. Pozega was destroyed by Tresnjevka on the opponent's court 81-54.
