International Center
Martin Svoboda (201-C-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for
Srsni Photomate Pisek and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat
Decin (#5,
6-4)
99-84.
Srsni Pisek is placed at 4th position in Czech Republic NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season.
Srsni Pisek will need more victories to improve their
6-3 record. In the team's last game Svoboda had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at
Srsni Pisek, through which he has constantly improved. Svoboda has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.4ppg. Svoboda is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 72.6% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward
Ethan Chargois (205-F-1999) of
BK Opava. Chargois impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Opava cruised to a
83-75 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked
H.Kralove (#10,
3-7). This victory allowed Opava to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere
4-6 record. Chargois is a newcomer at Opava and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. The University of Oklahoma alumni Chargois played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
The third best performed player last round was Danish
Jermaine Ballisager-Webb (216-C-2003) of
PUMPA Basket Brno (#7). Ballisager-Webb scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of Brno, leading his team to a
81-76 win against the lower-ranked
Olomoucko (#11,
1-9). The chances of Brno ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ballisager-Webb could help Brno to bring them higher in the standings. Ballisager-Webb has a very solid season. In 10 games in Czech Republic he scored 16.5ppg. He also has 7.0rpg and a FGP of 62.9%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
