Haas explodes for 31 as Falcon rout Hvidovre to claim Danish 1. Division championship-May 4, 2026
Falcon captured the 2025-26 Danish 1. Division title on Saturday, demolishing Hvidovre 83-52 in the final at Norrebrohallen behind a sensational 31-point performance from Anders Haas (185-G-1992, college: Barry) that left the outcome beyond doubt by halftime.
Haas was virtually unguardable, connecting on five two-pointers and five three-pointers while going 6-of-8 from the free-throw line in 38 dominant minutes, posting a game-best +35 plus-minus. Philip Hertz (195-F-1992, college: Rio Grande) provided the ideal backcourt complement with 22 points on four two-pointers and four triples, shooting a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. August Haas (187-PG-1997, college: St.Edward's) — Anders' brother — added 10 points and four rebounds as the Haas family duo combined for 41 of Falcon's 83 points.
Falcon set the tone from the opening tip, winning the first quarter 27-16 with aggressive perimeter shooting that Hvidovre could not contain. The second period was even more emphatic — Falcon poured in 23 points to Hvidovre's 13, taking a commanding 50-29 halftime lead that turned the second half into a formality. The 31-point winning margin was the largest of any game in the finals weekend.
Falcon's three-point shooting was the decisive weapon. The winners drilled 12 triples across the contest — five from Anders Haas alone — while Hvidovre managed just five from deep all game. The contrast in outside shooting created open driving lanes inside, where Falcon's guards repeatedly attacked for 15 two-point field goals.
For Hvidovre, Oliver Stroh (193-G-1994) was the standout in a losing cause with 17 points on four two-pointers, one triple, and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Casper Hesseldal (198-F-1985, college: Dickinson St.) added 11 points, but no other Hvidovre player reached double figures. The team's collective -23 plus-minus in Hesseldal's minutes and -20 in A. Baerentzen's reflected the extent of Falcon's dominance across every quarter.
Hvidovre's foul trouble compounded their problems — they committed 23 team fouls to Falcon's 20, and several key contributors spent stretches on the bench with foul issues. The combination of Falcon's offensive firepower and Hvidovre's inability to find consistent scoring beyond Stroh and Hesseldal made for a lopsided contest.
